By the end of the first year running my own business I turned to my Mom and said "Mom, running a business is just like living in a roller-coaster of 2 complete opposite feelings: euphoria and terror" 🎢💣

By euphoria I mean all the good things related - the happiness and satisfaction you experience with good results and the pleasure of concretizing your own vision. However, euphoria-moments are quite dangerous because they place you in your comfort zone. They make you feel relaxed, settled and confident enough to not keep looking for more (which is the worst scenario for any entrepreneur).

On the other side, terror is the taste of failure, the despair of not knowing what to do, the fear, the shame, the lack of confidence and hope. But these are precisely the feelings that force you to move forward, to keep looking for new/alternative solutions and contacts, to redefine your strategy, to think bigger (or smaller if that's needed).

A few months ago I was reading The Hard Thing About Hard Things, by Ben Horowitz, where he mentions this very clearly (funny that he uses precisely the same wording "euphoria" and "terror") in his book: "You only ever experience two emotions: euphoria and terror. And I find that lack of sleep enhances them both." 🤔😌✌

So, just embrace it!
